Ramble Week Commences
By The Staff Monday, April 23, 2007 Hello Everyone:
Our much anticipated fair skies and spring warmth are the forecast for this coming Ramble week. We hope that if you are planning to be with us you have already registered by mail or online or plan to do so very soon.
If it is possible, try and arrange to pick up your number, chip and shirt if you wish one on Saturday afternoon between Noon and Six PM. You may walk- in and register at this time as well and you can buy a shirt as well as caps, mugs and long sleeve jerseys.
On Sunday, our registrations begin at 8:30 AM and run up to ten minutes before 11:00 AM. Our veterans all know enough to be early. Parking on the Estate fairgrounds is limited to the first arrivals.
Today was a very warm one here in New England and in fact broke many records. If we do have warmer than normal temperatures for this coming Sunday, we will more than be ready. Poland Springs is again sponsoring all five water stations on the course while back at the Endicott Estate, officials from presenting sponsor New England Subaru will be handing you spring water as you step out of the corral at the Finish Line. And a few yards from there on the lawn of the Estate, O Water, the new beverage from the folks who originated that Nantucket juice will be giving you yet another tasty libation. In all well over 6000 bottles of beverages will be available to you when you complete the course next Sunday. Oh yes, those beloved Harpoon tap lines open at Noon.
The Post-Race Show will go until 3 pm while you enjoy fresh bowls of pasta, Kerry Gold cheeses and a lot of other snacks available to you to sample. We have “Ernie and the Automatics” with the original members of “Boston” opening the post race show and the returning “Dennis Brennan Band” punctuating the day on the Estate lawns.
Please note that the Ramble is designed to be a family event and so we ask that you recognize our partner events.
The very popular “Children’s Northstar Ramble” will be from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. You can also participate in the ‘Take A Walk” if you don’t wish to run the 6.2 mile Ramble course. Please refer to the website for all information on both events.
Our thanks go out to you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing many familiar faces.
