USA Track & Field in Indianapolis, Indiana has revealed that the famous Massachusetts-based James Joyce Ramble, celebrating its 30 years in existence on April 28 will be the host for the 2013 USA Masters 10 km Championship drawing the best running talent from all over the country to the streets of Dedham. The Ramble has been a popular regional championship for the very active New England running community for several years, but this is the first time that the Ramble will be a national competitive event.
Ramble organizing executive Martin Hanley also announced that Subaru, New England will be the presenting sponsor for the Ramble and the company is delighted that the Ramble is now a destination for Master Runners of an elite level from all over the United States. “Our continuing success is a testament to the hard work of the organizing committee, local businesses and wide community support”, Hanley said.
The James Joyce Ramble has had a strong reputation for athletic excellence since 1984 because of its organizational acumen, community support and pretty historic course and has long enjoyed the performance of internationally acclaimed athletes with course records held by Kenyan runners Stephen Kigora, 28:45 and Martha Komu 32:54.
USA Track & Field (USATF) is the National Governing Body for track and field, long-distance running and race walking in the United States.
USATF encompasses the world’s oldest organized sports, some of the most-watched events of Olympic broadcasts, the country’s #1 high school and junior high school participatory sport and more than 30 million adult runners in the United States.
