National Running Championship Hosted Once Again by the James Joyce Ramble

Last year, two American distance records were broken at the the James Joyce Ramble, the host once again of the USATF National Masters 10K Championship ( age 40+) and this year, Massachusetts anticipates an even more competitive and exciting event on Sunday, April 24.
 
There are hundreds of running events throughout New England, but the editorial staff of New England Runner Magazine chose last year the 2014 James Joyce Ramble “Race of the Year,” calling the race “well worth a standing ovation”.  Over the years it has attracted the attention of the New York Times, Sports Illustrated, The Wall Street Journal, ESPN & National Public Radio.
 
Registrations are by online or by walk-in on Saturday, April 23 as well on the morning of the event, beginning at 8:30 AM and running up to 10:30 AM at the Endicott Estate, 656 East Street.
 
The 33rd James Joyce Ramble presented by Subaru of New England, known as the world’s fine arts running event especially for the dozens of professional costumed actors staged throughout the historic six-mile course reading from the literary works of the Ramble race’s namesake and live music. 
 
Area artists who may be interested in showing their work at the post race soiree on the lawn of the estate are invited to contact the director Martin Hanley by emailing a [email protected]   All community nonprofit groups are also invited as in past years to set up guest tables and talk about their missions in the midst of a very festive atmosphere.

Founded in 1984, the James Joyce Ramble has been chosen once again among running events all over America to host the USA National Masters (age 40+) 10 kilometer Championship.  It draws the best in American running talent from coast to coast. In 2015 two American distance records were broken.
The Ramble enjoys a reputation for athletic excellence because of its organizational acumen, community support and pretty historic course and has borne witness to the performances of internationally acclaimed athletes with course records currently held by Kenyan runners Stephen Kigora, 28:45 and Martha Komu 32:54.
