The 36th Edition James Joyce Ramble Approaches

Sunday, April 28

There are hundreds of running events throughout the country, but The James Joyce Ramble is the only championship for American runners forty years and over on Sunday, April 28 as a part of this race that is all inclusive.

The 36th James Joyce Ramble takes place on Sunday, April 28, known as the world’s fine arts running event and noted for the dozens of professional costumed actors staged throughout the historic six-mile course reading from the literary works of the Ramble race’s namesake.

Acclaimed Blue Ribbon Barbeque and Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers will be setting up on the lawn of the Endicott Estate for the post Ramble soiree along with live music from the Dennis Brennan. All community nonprofit groups are also invited as in past years to set up guest tables and talk about their missions in the midst of a very festive atmosphere.

Sponsors of the James Joyce Ramble include Martin Hanley, National Amusements, Get Fused, Poland Springs, Norfolk & Dedham Insurance, Dedham Savings, Total Image, Dedham House of Pizza, Waste Management, A Tent for Rent, Norfolk County Sheriff’s Department, Dedham Country Day School, Visi-Flash, Walley Insurance and Noble & Greenough School among many others.

The James Joyce Ramble has been chosen among running events all over America to host the USA National Masters 6.2 mile Championship for the 7th consecutive year and continues to draw the best in American running talent from coast to coast.

Since 1984, the Ramble has earned a reputation for athletic excellence on the venue because of its organizational acumen, community support and pretty historic course and has borne witness to several American age distance records broken each year. The course records are currently held by Kenyan runners Stephen Kigora, 28:45 and Martha Komu 32:54.

It has been covered by the New York Times, Sports Illustrated, The Wall Street Journal, ESPN & National Public Radio for the uniqueness and also because it is the only athletic event dedicating itself to press and literary freedom around the world.

The 36th James Joyce Ramble is on Sunday, April 28 at 11;00 a.m. beginning at 11:00 a.m. You can find out more on the event Facebook page or at the website, ramble.org.
